#TBT: No Letting Go – Wayne Wonder

We are going to kick off our #ThrowbackThursday series with a classic from the early 2000’s.

No Letting Go by Wayne Wonder was released on January 28, 2003, and is one of those jams that has aged very well, in my opinion.

It’s one of those songs I can remember hearing in the backseat of my mom’s car as a younger child.

Now, anytime it comes on today, I can’t skip it.

The track peaked at #11 of the Billboard Top 100 in the United States, but nearly topped the charts in the Netherlands and UK.

Wonder himself said the song was about a girl that he once knew but he doesn’t mention her name, according to Wikipedia.

“I just wrote this song [about a girl] without calling her name in the song because she always said to me, ‘You are always [calling] these other girls’ names.’ I said, ‘I don’t have to call your name, I’ll just write a song and you can appreciate it,” Wonder said in an interview with MTV.

Go ahead and enjoy your Thursday with our first look at a Throwback track.
