#TBT: A Thousand Miles – Vanessa Carlton

You read the title and you can instantly hear the piano intro in your head.

One of the most famous songs of the 2000’s came from Vanessa Carlton, who I personally could not name another song she has written, sung or performed.

The song, which was originally titled “Interlude”, was released as Carlton’s debut single on February 12, 2002.

It was Carlton’s biggest hit, and reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Not only did the song have success in the U.S., but it was the top song in Australia and cracked the top 10 in the Netherlands, Ireland, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom at one point or another.

The pop ballad features an extremely memorable chorus that I find myself belting out and playing the air piano along anytime I hear.

Take a listen, flash back to the early 2000’s, and enjoy Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” on this Throwback Thursday.
