#TBT: The Kill (Bury Me) – 30 Seconds to Mars

All of a sudden, I’m 13-years-old again.

While I never got too deep into 30 Seconds to Mars, this song caught my ear almost instantly and became a track in my all-time library. (In fact, to prove how not deep into the band I am, I seriously had NO IDEA that Jared Leto was apart of the band until this writing).

This track just had everything a 13-year-old me would want out of it: Dark elements, some screaming and a catchy chorus.

While this song never made it to the top spot on the charts, it did hit number 3 and set a record on Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart by remaining there for 52 weeks.

On the Billboard Hot 100, it hit 65, but peaked in the top 25 in three other countries before also placing at number three in Billboard’s US Alternative Songs list.

The video (which I had also not seen until this writing) is cool, whatever. Then, I learned it won the MTV2 Award and Best Rock Video of the Year at the MTV Australia Music Awards.

Enjoy a BUMP back to the past with this track!
