Tyler’s Unqualified Fantasy Corner: Week 16

Well, this is it, the grand finale, the final chapter, the endgame. Don’t feel bad about this, part of the journey is the end.

We’ve all lost this season, we’ve lost games, we’ve lost players, we’ve lost a part of ourselves. This week is the fight of our lives.

Whether you won 0 games and have been eliminated for months, or you’re fighting for that illustrious title, it all comes to an end this weekend.

All the blood, sweat and tears that have gone on this season, the bad picks, the pickups that may have saved seasons (S/O the homie George Kittle), it’s all on this weekend.

It’s been one h*ck of a season, and I know I’m not the only one that’s already anxious about drafting in August and September.

Let’s not look ahead yet, however, we’ve got titles to win.

The picks this week are going to work, because I’m not sure what I’m going to do if they don’t.

Jamaal Williams, GB RB

The Packers are dead. Eliminated, coach fired, Rodgers may be shut down. Stick a fork in them, they’re done. What is not done, however, is guys they need to assess for the future. For Jamal Williams, the time is now. Aaron Jones is hurt, and Williams has to earn his keep for next season. He did well in the work he got last week, and I think he keeps it up to end the season. Pick him up if you need a filler.

Well, Jones somehow comes back, Williams gets 4 carries for 7 yards, and you started a plug and play guy with 500 dollars on the line, how do you THINK you did?

Gus Edwards, BAL RB

Edwards came out of what seems like nowhere to be productive the last month. Last week totaling 100 yards and a score. The Ravens average 750 rush yards a game with Lamar Jackson behind center, they need to win out to get into the playoffs, and they are going to want to keep the success points sharp. Look for a ton of runs against LA, and look for Edwards to lead the way.

Edwards finally takes a backseat to Kenneth Dixon, and Jackson has the majority of the rushes himself, leaving Edwards the scraps, and you on the receiving end of an “ole fashioned rear end whoopin.” *Quote provided by LA Chargers QB, and father of the entire small suburb outside of San Diego, Philip Rivers.

Nelson Agholor, PHI WR

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Why?” Or perhaps, “are you okay?” Well, yes, I am, thanks for asking! Also, I am feeling that 80 yard bomb to Agholor this week. I don’t know why, but I think it’s coming. I have a hunch, and I’m going to follow it.

I can think of a few reasons for this one.

Kirk Cousins, MIN QB

The 84 million dollar man, playing like the 84 dollar man this season. Yes, Cousins led the Vikes to a big win against Miami this past weekend, which was on the back of Dalvin Cook who finally got the ball Sunday. Cousins has struggled all season, and the Vikings have to win to make the playoffs. You all know what that means…

The Kirk Cousins that shows up every single time he plays the Eagles shows up this weekend. You know the drill, 350 in the air, 4 tuddys, a big L and a summer long sadness. Sad boy hours commence.

Dion Lewis, TEN RB

Ever since I wrote that Derrick Henry stinks he has emerged to become the second coming of Barry Sanders, putting Dion Lewis on the back burner, he is mostly a change of pace guy at this point, so don’t look for him to make a big difference Sunday.

The Dion Lewis of New England emerges and takes over the game, knocking the Redskins out (yay!) and you out too (oh no!)

Aaron Rodgers, GB QB

I am on fire today. Listen, Rodgers is always going to be a full proof QB, that’s whether he’s dinged up or not. HOWEVER, all I am saying is there are better options. Green Bay faces the Jets. They’ll fight whoever is in front of them. They probably won’t win, but they’ll try. Rodgers is in conservation mode, that’s if he even plays. I just think there might be better options at this point.

Well if you do this and lose you are legally not allowed to be mad at me. That’s all I’m saying. That’s the rules.

I just want to take a minute to thank everybody for the support this football season. I’ve had some hits, and some not hits, and the feedback has been more than I could have hoped for when I started doing this a few months back.

Everybody has been super supportive and it has meant the world and I can’t thank you all enough again. We’ll be back to recap some things fantasy wise and check in during the off-season before #DraftSzn starts up!

Look for more content outside the fantasy realm coming real soon.

Until then….good luck this week to everyone! See y’all next season.
